US Army Launches Advanced Reactor Program
The US Department of Army has launched the Janus Program, a next-generation nuclear power initiative designed to provide secure and reliable energy for defence installations and remote missions.
The Janus Program aims to deliver resilient, secure, and deployable energy for national defence and critical missions, serving the nuclear industry since 1956.
- The program will leverage the Army’s nuclear regulatory authorities in close partnership with the Department of Energy (DOE) to ensure the highest standards of safety, oversight, and transparency.
The announcement was made at an Association of the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting Warriors Corner panel, where Army leaders were joined by the Secretary of Energy Chris Wright.
