Raytheon is investing $53 million in new production facilities to meet growing demand for the LTAMDS radar for Patriot systems.
The LTAMDS radar is designed to enhance air and missile defense capabilities against hypersonic threats, including Russia's Kinzhal missiles.
Company representatives told Defense News they had received dozens of inquiries about the new radar.
The system has received approval from the U.S. Army for small-scale production and is undergoing testing, including operational testing in Guam.
