The latest consequence of Brexit has taken effect, introducing a new biometric border system by the European Union.
“Too busy enjoying those Brexshit benefits.”
Under the European Entry/Exit System (EES), non-EU nationals, including British travellers, will have their photograph and fingerprints taken at biometric registration kiosks before entering the EU, adding 2-3 minutes to each passport check.
The EES is being introduced gradually over six months, with full compliance expected by April 12, 2026.
