Bungie Is Retiring Unstable Cores Ahead Of Destiny 2: Renegades Launch
Bungie announced on Reddit that Unstable Cores will soon be fully deprecated.
The decision follows player feedback and internal review, concluding that the system has been too restrictive.
- Unstable Cores limited experimentation across power levels.
- Discouraged players from trying new weapons or maintaining different gear sets for endgame content.
Infusion — the process of raising a weapon or armor piece’s power level — will instead require Enhancement Cores and Glimmer.
This change is part of a broader economy rebalancing to make progression smoother and more flexible for players.
