The Grolier Club, a book-lovers' mecca, is hosting its first-ever Jewish-themed exhibit, "Jewish Worlds Illuminated," showcasing the richness of Jewish life in Muslim and Christian lands.
The exhibit features elaborately decorated, centuries-old Jewish manuscripts from Italy, France, and the Iberian Peninsula, as well as from Muslim lands such as Yemen, North Africa, and Iran/Iraq.
The exhibit is collectively known as "Jewish Worlds Illuminated: A Treasury of Hebrew Manuscripts from The JTS Library."
This exhibition is a significant event, as it is the first dedicated to Jewish books and manuscripts at the Grolier Club, which was founded in New York City in 1884.
