A season of setbacks for the Braves revealed both flaws to fix and foundations to build upon as the offseason approaches.
For the first time since 2017, the Atlanta Braves did not experience the excitement of October baseball. After a run that included six straight NL East titles, 24 postseason wins, five series victories, and a World Series ring, Atlanta’s focus has already shifted to 2026.
This team is determined to restore its October standard. Unfortunately, 2025 carried a theme of injuries:
- one player was limited to just 95 games after returning from injury
- Sean Murphy appeared in only 94
- Reynaldo López was lost for the season after just one start
- Chris Sale, Grant Holmes, Spencer Schwellenbach, and AJ Smith-Shawver all hit the injured list
- Jurickson Profar’s 80-game suspension
