Tasmania's Unemployment Rate Remains the Lowest in the Country
Tasmania has once again recorded the lowest unemployment rate in Australia, according to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The state's workforce now comprises over 286,000 individuals, with an unemployment rate of 4.0 per cent. Treasurer Eric Abetz stated that since the Liberal Government's election in 2014, more than 51,000 jobs have been created.
"Whether it's our high-vis army, targeted investments into key initiatives or giving the private sector room to move - we are keeping Tasmanians employed,"
Minister Abetz also noted an improvement in Tasmania's participation rate, contributing to the positive employment news. The government aims to maintain the low unemployment rate, providing businesses with confidence and supporting the growth of the economy.
