Business Conditions Improve in Uganda
According to the Stanbic Bank Uganda Purchasing Managers’ Index, business conditions in Uganda have strengthened for the first time in four months.
The index rose to 54, up from 53.3 in August, exceeding the 50-point threshold that signals improving conditions.
The upturns in output and new orders were broad-based by sector.
- New business increased due to strong demand and more customers.
- Output rose for the eighth consecutive month.
- Employment and input buying increased, with temporary hires driving the rise in staffing numbers.
