Nick Coffey, a former Assistant U.S. Attorney, has become the first Democratic candidate to launch a 2026 campaign for attorney general of Oklahoma.
"I left the [Department of Justice] to run for attorney general because corruption is running rampant through our elected offices,"
Coffey stated, citing his experience in taking down cartel leaders, violent prison gangs, and mafia bosses as a federal prosecutor. He aims to bring accountability to keeping politicians in check.
Coffey is ready to take on the role of Oklahoma's top law enforcement officer.
