Atlantic Hurricane Season Update
A new tropical wave in the Atlantic may develop next week, but it poses no threat to the Carolinas.
Tropical Storm Lorenzo, the twelfth named storm of the 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season, has dissipated.
Current Developments
- A tropical wave southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands has a 30% chance of developing in the next seven days.
- A non-tropical low east of New England and south of Nova Scotia has a small chance of subtropical or tropical development.
Neither of these systems is expected to threaten the mainland U.S. or the Carolinas at this time.
No threat to the Carolinas
