Health Centers in Massachusetts Stop Trans Care for Minors

Some health centers in Massachusetts have stopped offering medical services for trans youth, including puberty blockers and hormones that aid gender transition.

The Healey administration is working on a plan to ensure continued access to care. Fenway Health, a nationally recognized LGBTQ health center, is no longer offering gender transition medical care for patients in Massachusetts aged 18 and younger.

At least one other health center network, Outer Cape Health Services, will follow suit. The reason for the cancellation is due to pressure from the Trump administration.

No comment beyond the notice was given by staff at Fenway.

This is the first known cancellation of services for children in Massachusetts.
