Alex Bregman's Free Agency
Alex Bregman, the Red Sox third baseman, has opted out of his contract and become a free agent after a bounce-back season, hitting .273 with 18 home runs.
Bregman's decision comes after a controversy-filled season, where he signed a 3-year, $120 million contract, leading to All-Star Rafael Devers being asked to move positions, which he declined, resulting in a trade to San Francisco.
Despite a second half slump and a quad injury, the 31-year-old will have suitors in free agency.
Bregman is represented by his agent Scott Boras. The Red Sox made the playoffs for the first time since 2021 with Bregman on the team.
