The Circleville Pumpkin Show, known as "The Greatest Free Show on Earth," has been a staple of small-town pride and local agriculture for over a century.
Originating in October 1903 with Mayor George Haswell's modest pumpkin-and-corn display, the event has blossomed into a massive four-day festival.
By 1905, Circleville was hosting rides, parades, and drawing crowds from all around. Today, the festival attracts more than 400,000 visitors who enjoy seven parades, three pageants, and performances by top marching bands.
The event kicks off with the official Pumpkin Weigh-In, where pumpkins have tipped the scales at over 2,000 pounds. Lindsey’s Bakery adds to the festivities with the world’s largest pumpkin pie.
