Warburtons Acquires Roberts Bakery Ilkeston Factory
Warburtons has confirmed the acquisition of the Roberts Bakery sourdough factory in Ilkeston as part of an administration deal.
A spokesperson for Warburtons said:
To support the future growth of Warburtons, we have purchased the Roberts Bakery site in Ilkeston. This will provide us with further capacity to meet demand in a growing segment of the bakery market. We have enjoyed a positive relationship with the Roberts family for many years and wish them all the best for the future.
The acquisition will enable the company to meet growing demand and support its future growth. Meanwhile, Roberts Bakery's parent company, Frank Roberts & Sons Ltd, has been saved from administration by Boparan Private Office, securing over 400 jobs.
