Muir man admits keeping lurcher among ‘faeces and hazardous materials’

Man Admits to Keeping Dog in Filthy Conditions

A 56-year-old man from Ross-shire has admitted to keeping a Lurcher-type dog in unsanitary and unhygienic conditions at a property in Contin.

Edward Stewart, of Tarradale Gardens, Muir of Ord, appeared at Inverness Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to failing to protect the dog from unnecessary injury and suffering.

The charge stated that there were faeces and urine on the floor and hazardous materials piled up where the dog was kept.

Sheriff David Mackie deferred Stewart's sentence until November 27, pending a social work background report.

Author's summary: Man guilty of animal neglect.
