The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has commended the Operation Walk programme for making orthopedic surgery accessible and affordable to Ghanaians.
At Joseph Hospital in Koforidua, the Minister praised the initiative for reducing the financial burden on patients, who previously paid up to GH₵70,000 for orthopedic procedures.
The intervention is lifesaving and economically transformative, restoring hope to many who could not afford treatment.
Akandoh disclosed that the Ministry of Health is working with Operation Walk to extend services to other regions, including the northern, central, and underserved areas.
