Redistricting Task Force Grapples with Vermont's Uniqueness

Area residents shared their thoughts and fears with the Vermont School Redistricting Task Force as it prepares a map to recommend to the Legislature.

Rich Werner of Dover, chairman of the River Valleys Unified Union School District, noted that Vermont is "a unique place" and cited transportation in rural and hilly areas as a major issue to consider.

"You guys don't have an easy job,"

he told the task force. Parents from nearby towns expressed their desire to continue sending their children to Burr & Burton Academy in Manchester.
