A new national initiative, the $50 million Autism Data Science Initiative (ADSI) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), aims to yield new insights for individuals living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
The initiative focuses on the role of genetic factors and environmental influences in the development of autism, affecting 1 in 45 adults and 1 in 35 children in the United States.
Drexel researchers, with expertise in studying the intersection of these exposures, will lead the new effort, supported by the NIH.
