A magnitude 3.1 earthquake struck in Berkeley, just east of Cal Memorial Stadium, on Thursday morning at 9:23 a.m., according to the USGS.
The earthquake occurred less than an hour before the Great California Shake Out earthquake drill, and its epicenter was located on the UC Berkeley Campus, 800 feet northeast of the Cal Memorial Stadium.
