Weather Forecast: Southeast Australia to Expect Rain and Thunderstorms
A northwest cloud band is set to bring rain and thunderstorms to southeast Australia, with New South Wales (NSW) and Queensland (Qld) expected to see showers and storms on Friday.
A trough is producing showers and severe thunderstorms, but milder conditions are expected to follow, although it will still be cold enough for snow in southern Tasmania.
Meanwhile, cloud is building over the Indian Ocean, which is a precursor to the next big weather system, bringing widespread rain.
The Negative Indian Ocean Dipole is contributing to the moisture coming in from the Indian Ocean.
