Dodgers' Dominance in the LCS
The Dodgers and Seattle Mariners have achieved a rare feat in postseason play, not seen in 55 years.
According to Sarah Langs, this phenomenon last occurred in 1970, when the Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles took the first two games of their respective League Championship Series.
- The 1970 Cincinnati Reds won the first two games against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Three Rivers Stadium.
- The 1970 Baltimore Orioles took the first two games against the Minnesota Twins at Metropolitan Stadium, scoring 21 runs.
Both League Championship Series ended in three-game sweeps.
The Orioles then went on to win the World Series against the Reds in five games. Hopefully, history will not repeat itself in the same way.
