Catholic bishops participated in a binational pilgrimage and Mass to show solidarity with immigrants.
"We walk together with our brothers and sisters who are struggling that they might know our love and concern and respect for each one of them."
In San Luis, Arizona, the bishops, accompanied by priests, religious brothers and sisters, and immigration advocates, processed towards the Mexico border.
According to Bishop Kicanas, apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Tucson,
"We join together with our Holy Father Pope Leo XIV as we remember that the Lord has called us to remember the littlest and weakest among us,"he said.
The event took place on the second Sunday in October, slowing traffic at the busy port of entry and drawing attention from onlookers.
